My First Edition

flower This is my first attempt at compiling what I believe are helpful resources for librarians. The bases for this compilation are the Philippines Professional Regulation Commission (PRC) Board for Librarians (BFL) terms of specification and syllabi, and the curricular offerings of the different library and information science schools in the Philippines and abroad. Inspiration is also taken from the lessons I have learned from my students at both the graduate and undergraduate levels of Notre Dame University in Cotabato City, and Holy Cross College, University of Mindanao, Ateneo de Davao University and the University of Southeastern Philippines, all in Davao city. Profound gratitude also goes to my professors and classmates at the School of Computer Studies and Graduate School, Mindanao State University-Institute of Technology, Iligan City.

As a practicing library and information science professional for the past 27 years, I have come to realize that this profession continues to adapt to changes in technology as well as imbibe pedagogical principles and practices that need impartation not only to upcoming professionals, but also to those who are already in the field for the last decades or so. Despite the prevalence of materials in all media, there is a need to put them together in an organized manner for everybody to benefit from. I hope this website contributes to that particular endeavor. To all who use this site, please spread the news to others so they may also learn from it. Daghang salamat!

paradise This design has been tested in Windows with Firefox and Internet Explorer, and in OS X with Safari and Firefox, thanks to the ingenuity of Brandon Wood, the original designer of this web page. Thanks are also bestowed on Ramil M. Casan, the indefatigable IT and multi-media staff of the University Library, for uploading the contents. Thanks are also due in large part to the many library and information science practitioners around the globe whose contents are also linked here, particularly, the library and information science associations, the national libraries, professors, and all others who continue to have faith in information keepers as vanguards of the world's civilization.

Library and information science professionals are invited to send in their comments, suggestions, and recommendations for the improvement of the contents of this website. As improvements in the field of library and information science continue, this website will also develop correspondingly. This website is offered for the greater Glory of our Lord Jesus Christ, and the blessings from our Almighty Father from whom everything emanates, and Virgin Mary, our Mother.
