This web siste is an online gateway to the library resources of the University of the Philippines Mindanao and serves as an important research tool for UP Mindanao's current students, faculty, staff, and researchers who hold University IDs and PINs. This site also provides practical information on each of the four College libraries. Visitors and guests should consult the Library's Frequently Asked Questions before navigating the site. When applied to library setting, webpage designing will showcase the image each college library would like to communicate, advertise their respective resources, and increase the usability of these resources. Thus, an additional knowledge and skills in webpage design training is necessary for the Library staff.
Since the internet serves as the architecture of the homepage, the Library will maximize its utilization. Aside from the reference questions asked in traditional set-up, chat, email, online messages, telephone and similar connucation technologies, and web services will form integral parts to the development of this portal so that llibrary personnel and users can interact extensively.
This training-workshop on webpage design intends to achive the following:
a) Create a college library webpage wherein library staff can market and advertise their respective library holdings and services
b) Upload to the webpage relevant and authoritative sources of information for library users to benefit
c) Communicate and deliver electronically the accomplishments, developments and updates on the activities of their unit
d) Establish computer-to-computer exchange of information between library staff, librarians and library users
